World Kannada Meet

Govt to provide Rs 30 crore for world Kannada meet :

                Karnataka Government would release Rs 30 crore for the World Kannada Conference to be held from March 11-13 in Belgaum, Minister for Kannada and Culture Govind Karjol said today.

Rs 10 crore has already been released and the District administration has spent Rs 3.5 crore on creating infrastructure for the event, Karjol said after unveiling the emblem for the conference here.

He would discuss with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa the issue of allocation of more funds if the need arose, he said.

A meeting to discuss the arrangements for the meet would be held in Belgaum on February 2, he said.
