History of Cricket World Cup

Before the first Cricket World Cup :

The first ever international cricket match was played between Canada and the United States, on the 24 and 25 September 1844. However, the first credited Test match was played in 1877 between Australia and England, and the two teams competed regularly for The Ashes in subsequent years. South Africa was admitted to Test status in 1889. Representative cricket teams were selected to tour each other, resulting in bilateral competition. Cricket was also included as an Olympic sport at the 1900 Paris Games, where Great Britain defeated France to win the gold medal. This was the only appearance of cricket at the Summer Olympics.
The first multilateral competition at international level was the 1912 Triangular Tournament, a Test cricket tournament played in England between all three Test-playing nations at the time: England, Australia and South Africa. The event was not a success: the summer was exceptionally wet, making play difficult on damp uncovered pitches, and attendances were poor, attributed to a "surfeit of cricket". In subsequent years, international Test cricket has generally been organised as bilateral series: a multilateral Test tournament was not organised again until the quadrangular Asian Test Championship in 1999.
The number of nations playing Test cricket increased gradually over the years, with the addition of West Indies in 1928, New Zealand in 1930, India in 1932, and Pakistan in 1952, but international cricket continued to be played as bilateral Test matches over three, four or five days.
In the early 1960s, English county cricket teams began playing a shortened version of cricket which only lasted for one day. Starting in 1962 with a four-team knockout competition known as the Midlands Knock-Out Cup, and continuing with the inaugural Gillette Cup in 1963, one-day cricket grew in popularity in England. A national Sunday League was formed in 1969. The first One-Day International event was played on the fifth day of a rain-aborted Test match between England and Australia at Melbourne in 1971, to fill the time available and as compensation for the frustrated crowd. It was a forty over match with eight balls per over.
The success and popularity of the domestic one-day competitions in England and other parts of the world, as well as the early One-Day Internationals, prompted the ICC to consider organising a Cricket World Cup

How to remove Vocals from music tracks ?

Now it is very simple to remove vocals from music tracks using softwares.

How It Works ???????

Vocals are normally placed in the “center channel.” Stereo tracks have two channels, but not all of the instruments are balanced evenly. Sometimes the bass is pushed more towards the right channel, rhythm guitar might be found more towards the left, and so on. Usually the vocals are put dead center, so we can split the stereo track and invert one channel. This cancels out the vocals but leaves the rest in tact.  Primus often has extremely unbalanced channels. These kinds of tracks usually work well because the vocals are left evenly balanced between the two channels and that makes them easier to remove accurately. Songs with a lot of vocal effects may end up being mangled by the process, and songs with reverb may leave an echo despite vocals being gone. On the whole, however this process works really well if you start with good quality audio. One of the most well known adages of audio editing is “garbage in equals garbage out.” If you start with CD audio and work from there, the end result will be cleaner and clearer than if you start with a compressed mp3.

Here are some of the softwares which are used to remove Vocals from music tracks.

    Make your own Burglar Alarm

    Let’s begin!

    Materials

    1. Insulated Wire
      • Get 4 strands of wire, each 1 foot in length
      • You can find the wires around the house, inside battery-operated appliances that no longer work. Make sure that your parents give you permission to take them apart.
      • You can also buy the wires and other supplies listed from a Radio Shack, a hardware store, or the electrical section of big stores like Walmart.
      • Note: In order to make this alarm, you will need to peel off the rubber/plastic insulation from two of the wires. Try to peel the wires before starting this lesson. If it is too difficult for you, then you can buy non-insulated wire that does not need peeling.
    2. 1.5-volt battery.
    3. Kite string or button-and-carpet thread, 3-5 feet long.
    4. Scissors
    5. Electrical tape
    6. 1.5-volt mini-buzzer
    7. Spring-type wooden clothes pin
    8. A scrap piece of board or plywood 4 inches by 12 inches or bigger.
    9. Super Glue

    Principles

The burglar alarm is made of three parts:
    1. The device that makes noise - a buzzer
    2. The battery
    3. The buzzer switch

    The Buzzer

We cannot have an alarm without something that makes sounds. That is why we use a buzzer, which is something that makes a loud sound. To make the sound, the buzzer needs to be connected to the battery.

    The Battery

The battery is very important to the alarm. For the buzzer to work, it needs energy. This energy comes from the battery. If the buzzer is not connected to the battery, it will not work. You have a switch to control this connection.

    The Buzzer Switch

See how the buzzer works by connecting your 1.5-volt battery to the buzzer directly. (The buzzer should come with two different wires. If the wire is insulated, you will need to peel a small length so that you are able to see the metal wire inside.) Get two other pieces of wire and connect them to opposite ends of the battery. Connect one wire to (+) and the other to (-). The battery should have the (+) and (-) labeled. Also, if you look closely, there is a (+) and (-) on the battery that you bought.
You may want to use electrical tape to hold the wires in place on the battery.
Connect the buzzer’s wires and the battery’s wires by twisting them, just like in the diagram 1. The buzzer should be making a sound; if it does not, check the connections at the ends of the wires to the battery.

    Question :
    • What happens when you disconnect a wire from the buzzer?
Now, connect it again as often as you want and see how the buzzer turns on and off. By connecting and disconnecting the wires, what you have made is called a switch.
When you disconnect a wire and the buzzer stops sounding, we say that the switch is open. When it is open, no energy from the battery reaches the buzzer.
When you connect the wire and the buzzer sounds, we say that the switch is closed. When it is closed, the energy from the battery reaches the buzzer.

Actor Darshan Released from Jail today

Today Actor Darshan has been released from jail today evening after 29 days in judicial custody.
Actor Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi

Actor Darshan was arrested on September 9 and remanded to judicial custody for two weeks. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Film Producers' Association, playing moral police, had imposed a 3-year ban on actor Nikita Thukral. She was named by Vijaylakshmi in her first statement to the police and the association alleged that an affair with her was the reason for the dispute between Darshan and his wife. Nikita has been Darshan's co-star in a few films. The Producers' Association, when asked, said it did not need to penalise Darshan because a legal case was handling complaints of domestic violence against him.

Nikita claimed to have no involvement in the entire episode and said she was being unnecessarily dragged into the controversy and punished with the ban. Darshan's bail plea was rejected on September 14 by the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Venkatesh Hulagi, stating that he did not have jurisdiction to handle the case filed under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder). Earlier, Darshan's attempts to secure bail suffered a setback despite his wife retracting her statement in the court on Monday, September 12.  She said her head injuries resulted from a fall in the bathroom, contrary to her allegations in a police complaint on September 8 that Darshan had assaulted and threatened her at gun point.

The co-founder of Apple and former CEO Steve Jobs dies !!!

Steve Jobs, the Apple founder and former CEO who invented and masterfully marketed ever-sleeker gadgets that transformed everyday technology, from the personal computer to the iPod and iPhone, has died. He aged 56. Apple announced his death without giving a specific cause. “We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,” the company said in a brief statement. “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

Mr. Jobs had battled cancer in 2004 and underwent a liver transplant in 2009 after taking a leave of absence for unspecified health problems. He took another leave of absence in January “his third since his health problems began” and officially resigned in August. Mr. Jobs started Apple with a high school friend in a Silicon Valley garage in 1976, was forced out a decade later and returned in 1997 to rescue the company. During his second stint, it grew into the most valuable technology company in the world. Cultivating Apple’s counter-cultural sensibility and a minimalist design ethic, Mr. Jobs rolled out one sensational product after another, even in the face of the late-2000s recession and his own failing health.
He helped change computers from a geeky hobbyist’s obsession to a necessity of modern life at work and home, and in the process he upended not just personal technology but the cell phone and music industries. For transformation of American industry, he has few rivals. Perhaps most influentially, Mr. Jobs in 2001 launched the iPod, which offered “1,000 songs in your pocket.” Over the next 10 years, its white earphones and thumb-dial control seemed to become more ubiquitous than the wristwatch. In 2007 came the touch-screen iPhone, joined a year later by Apple’s App Store, where developers could sell iPhone “apps” which made the phone a device not just for making calls but also for managing money, editing photos, playing games and social networking. And in 2010, Mr. Jobs introduced the iPad, a tablet-sized, all-touch computer that took off even though market analysts said no one really needed one.

By 2011, Apple had become the second-largest company of any kind in the United States by market value. In later years, Apple investors also watched these appearances for clues about his health. Jobs revealed in 2004 that he had been diagnosed with a very rare form of pancreatic cancer - an islet cell neuroendocrine tumour. He underwent surgery and said he had been cured. In 2009, following weight loss he initially attributed to a hormonal imbalance, he abruptly took a six-month leave. During that time, he received a liver transplant that became public two months after it was performed. He went on another medical leave in January 2011, this time for an unspecified duration. He never went back and resigned as CEO in August, though he stayed on as chairman. Consistent with his penchant for secrecy, he didn’t reference his illness in his resignation letter.

Watch Live Webcasting of Jumbo Savari (Dasara Procession) and Torch Light Parade

Mysore set for Jamboo Savari :
The City of Palaces is well prepared to host the 401st Jamboo Savari, the last leg of the nine-day Dasara festivities, on Thursday.

As per tradition, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will offer pooja to ‘Nandi Dhwaja’ at the auspicious Dhanur Lagna near Balarama gate of the palace as a prelude to the Savari between 12.54 pm and 1.24 pm. Torchlight parade, another major attraction, will be attended by Governor H R Bhardwaj, besides the chief minister, at 7 pm at the torchlight parade grounds in Bannimantap. Elephant Balarama, which will carry the 750-kg golden howdah on the D-Day, has undergone a rigorous exercise along with 13 jumbos that arrived in the City in two batches.

Unlike the second batch of jumbos, the Balarama-led elephants that arrived first have undergone nearly 50 days of rehearsal — from getting acclamitised to the procession route, the hustle-bustle of the traffic and weights in the form of sacks filled with grains, among others. Being a howdah elephant, Balarama has also been acclimatised to the ‘wooden howdah’ filled with sacks of grains. The four-km-long procession route from the palace to Bannimantap passing via the Statue Circle, K R Circle, Government Ayurvedic Hospital Circle and Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Circle has been re-asphalted.

The kerbstones too have got a fresh coat of paint. Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, Medical Education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas said as many as 20,500 passes had been distributed to enable all — from common people to VIPs, freedom fighters to the specially abled, foreigners and various departments among several others representing different strata of society — to witness both the Jamboo Savari and the torchlight parade. In all, 34 tableaux from 30 districts will form another attraction with each district laying thrust on its culture and tradition. The tableau of Mysore will portray ‘mahisha mardini- navaratri bombegalu’. Over 3,000 police personnel have arrived in batches from across the State, besides local police, to ensure smooth celebrations. Security checks have been regularly conducted along the procession route.

    Torch light parade:

Torch light parade marks the finale of Dasara festival here at Bannimantap Grounds with a spectacular laser show, acrobatic show of motor bikes and equestrian show. Torch light parade was held in the parade grounds. The Maharaja would change to his riding clothes and make an entry on horse back to the parade ground to receive the salute by his military units. As it would be dusk, lights would be lit up to welcome the king and the military officials. Only military units would participate in this organized parade. The main purpose of this parade was to instill confidence in the people and also to showcase the military capability of the ruling king to the unknown enemies. The show with lights, colors and royalty was in a class of its own and much appreciated by the visiting dignitaries and foreign tourists. The grand finale would be the military band playing the national anthem of then State of Mysore.
